Scope of this notice

This notice describes the After Forty reading website, hosted through Cloudflare, and its browser-based reading features. This notice does not cover websites you visit through external links.

Information handled by this website

You can read without creating an account. The current site has no active registration, payment, comment, contact submission or newsletter subscription service. It does not ask you to provide your name, email address, health history or payment details. Disabled sample forms do not submit information.

Loading a page requires your browser to request its files from the server. Cloudflare processes network and technical information to deliver and protect the website, including IP addresses and requests. Its handling of that information is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy. The website application does not maintain reader accounts or a separate access-log database.

Search and reading choices

Search downloads a search index from this site and matches your words inside your browser. Search terms are not sent with that request or placed in the page address. Saving an article records its identifier in your browser session; it does not create a reading profile on a server.

Cookies and browser storage

The current application does not set cookies or load advertising pixels or analytics tools. It uses browser storage for these features:

• Appearance preference: stored locally until you change it or clear site data.
• Reading text size: stored for the current tab session.
• Saved articles: article identifiers stored for the current tab session.
• Announcement dismissal: remembered for the current tab session.

Session restore can retain session information after a browser closes. These settings are not encrypted by this application. Someone with access to your device or browser profile may be able to see them.

Sharing and external websites

The current application has no mechanism for selling reading data, sharing it with advertisers or sending it to analytics services. Fonts and article images are served from this site. Clicking a source link takes you to a separate provider with its own privacy practices. The site sets a no-referrer policy to avoid sending the referring page address, but the destination still receives the network information needed for your visit.

Copying an article link puts its address on your clipboard. You decide whether and where to share it. Your browser, device, extensions and any services you use independently may have their own data handling practices.

Retention and your choices

Use Clear saved articles to remove the saved list. You can clear this site's browser data through your browser settings to remove stored preferences. Clearing website storage does not necessarily clear browser history, clipboard history or device backups; manage those separately. You can read without using the save feature.

Security

The current site minimizes collection and has no account or payment database. Public pages are served over HTTPS through Cloudflare. No website or device can guarantee absolute security. Do not enter medical records, passwords or other sensitive information into inactive or unverified contact channels.

Any future service that collects information will need its own documented privacy and security arrangements. We do not claim that this website is a confidential clinical service.

Children

The publication is intended for adults, with an editorial focus on life after 40. The current site has no age-verification or account collection system. It does not invite children to submit personal information.

Privacy requests and concerns

A monitored privacy contact and the legal operator's identity have not yet been supplied. No privacy-request form is active. The published version must identify who is responsible, how to contact them and how applicable access, correction, deletion or complaint requests will be handled. Available rights depend on your location and the information actually processed.

The date above identifies this version. This notice must be updated before introducing accounts, subscriptions, advertising, analytics or other collection.
